Melinda and I are so saddened to learn of Irma's passing.  I loved working with Irma.....she was great at breaking in those green Executive Officers at Wilford Hall, and quite frankly, keeping those General Officers walking the straight and narrow....none did it better than her.  We were fortunate to spend time with you and Irma after her retirement during your visits to the Lowcountry.
Lynn - Words can't express our sorrow for losing the love of your life.  Just know that you remain in our thoughts and prayers.

Irma I'm so lucky to have you in my life at the beginning of my military career. Whether it was me trying to convince you to let me help clean up all the historical papers of every general you worked with, or accompanying you and Lynn in Wimberly you always loved first. You were the friendly smile or the stern look over the top of your readers either way people knew your heart. 
I knew when I got this years Christmas card returned that I lost a piece of me. 
Lynn I'm so sorry that you lost your live, your confidant. You and Irma hold a special place in my heart.

I've moved to Germany and have lost contact of many of my contacts with my German phone number.  I was just sent this news and... It hurts.  Irma was a genuinely good person. She helped me grow not only as a young GS worker, but as a young man with her patience and great feedback without being demoralizing.  Just a fantastic human being. I have so many wonderful memories of Irma. I was fortunate enough to work with her for several years in Wilford Hall, but I am blessed to have called her my friend. She was funny, generous, and kind. I always told her I wanted to be her when I grew up because while she worked hard, she embraced and enjoyed life. We would love to talk about her travels during or luncheon get togethers and we bonded over our love of animals. I had some of the best times telling her stories about my fur babies and getting that distinctive, Irma smile and laugh, that just made everyone around fill good.

Lynn and family, my sincere condolences on your loss, but a tremendous and heartfelt thank you for sharing the wonderful light that was Irma with the rest of us. I know that my life will always shine brighter from having known her and I am forever grateful for the time I shared with her.

One of the sweetest persons I have ever known. I worked at Wilford Hall with Irma.  I was new and had to learn how administration worked.  Irma was always helpful in my orientation to my new surroundings. Later after retirement we got together for lunch or coffee with the girls.

For many years, Irma was the voice on the end of the phone and the smile that greeted anyone who wanted to meet the commander of Wilford Hall. She was a perfect assistant as she always made sure her boss was on time and prepared for whatever was required. She was kind to everyone who came through the door - even if that person was a challenge to work with. I loved working with Irma. We became close enough that I could often tell how her day was going without even a word. I could see how hard she worked to make eveybody feel welcome and respected. And sometimes, I could tell what to expect from a visitor just from her eyes.  She made my job easier and I really, truly am grateful for that. Even after we left Wilford Hall, she and Lynn remained very important to us and a hight point of the year was their Christmas party. I will miss her.

So sorry to hear about Irma's passing. I knew her through Wilford Hall. One of the nicest lady's you could meet. Prayers for the family.

Irma was one of the smartest, sweetest, fun, and elegant women I've had the pleasure to know.  We originally met over 30 years ago at Wilford Hall and met for lunch or coffee with a group of WHMC friends/retirees once a month prior to Covid.  More recently, we met for coffee whenever possible.  I was shocked to learn of her death.  I miss her already.

Heavy Sigh.  Irma was for decades, the commanding General’s secretary at Wilford Hall back when it was still a Medical Center.  I was the Vice-Wing Commander and spent a lot of time in meetings with her. She was such a delightful person who always had a smile, “can-do” attitude and nothing but kind words about others, even those who were difficult to work with.  She had an amazing corporate memory and would regale us with tales from past leaders. I was blessed to meet up with her again a few years ago on one of my trips to San Antonio and share memories about the “old days.”  Prayers for Lynn and family…she will be greatly missed.

Irma and I both worked at the 59th Medical Wing (nka Wilford Hall Ambulatory Center) Command Section.  Work was always busy and no time to chitchat, so after we both retired from Civil Service, we made it a point to meet for lunch to catch up on personal lives.  Of course, shopping is a big part of our day.  We both loved to shop and we were like kids in a candy store, whenever we found a great deal.  This picture depicts both our happiness on our deal finds…I told her on the day I took this selfie that we both looked very rascal.  We also loved to laugh, any or every chance we get.  I will miss you my dearest and sweetest friend.  When I went to see her at BAMC, I asked her what she was doing in bed and her response was, “well, things happens…”.  It’s okay my friend, no more pain, rest easy.  We will meet again!
