Jack Magee

Jack Magee, 58 years old, died unexpectedly on November 19, 2024, at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX, surrounded by his loving family.

Jack was born May 6, 1966, in San Antonio, TX; he was the son of Denver and Rebecca Skeens. In June of 1972, the family moved to their farm in Nettie, WV. In 1985, he moved back to San Antonio, TX.

Jack worked hard his whole life but was never too tired to lend a helping hand, and he never expected anything in return. He was extremely talented in many areas and used his gifts to benefit others. He made friends easily and more than a few considered him to be their very best friend. He made a point to make babies laugh and was kind to the elderly. He was a great person to talk to when you needed advice and was a father figure to many. He had a great sense of humor and was quick witted. He was thoughtful, caring, intelligent, loyal, and trustworthy. He was happiest spending time with his kids and other family members at get togethers. He gave his sons an amazing childhood and displayed unmatched dedication and selflessness. He had a passion for coaching and never missed a single game. He never let a day go by without telling his children and grandchildren that they were special, and that he was proud of them. He loved baseball, fishing, old country music, and playing cards—but most of all he loved his family. He was the type of person we should all strive to be, and he is gone too soon. He will be sorely missed, but he will never be forgotten.

Jack is preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca (Becky) Skeens, and his sister, Katherine (Kathy) Snider.

Jack is survived by his father, Denver Ray Skeens; brother, Rodney Magee, and sisters, Denise (Robert) Schmitt, and Jessica (Shane) Bowyer; sons Quinton (Cora) Magee and Andrew Magee, step-son Rafael Lopez; daughters Alexia and Krysta Lopez; granddaughters Cevaya and Sophia Magee and Ellie Magee-Townsend; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews.
