

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jaime Arturo Alvarez, who entered eternal rest on February 1, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on November 26, 1956, Jaime was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He graduated from Kennedy High School before answering the call to serve his country, enlisting in the military at the age of 17. After his service, he pursued higher education and earned his degree from the University of Texas.
A dedicated member of the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department and multiple San Antonio school districts, Jaime devoted his time to serving his community. He had a deep love for music, cheering on the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys, and sharing good food with family and friends. His warmth, kindness, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jaime is preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Guadalupe Alvarez, and his brother, Benny Alvarez. He is survived by his loving children, Denise and James Daniel Alvarez; cherished grandchildren, Daniel and Luke Alvarez; siblings, Mary, Paul, Lupe, Martin, Evelyn, and Bob; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. His loving niece and caregiver for many years, Nina. Jaime's former spouse, Genetrix Alvarez, along with his many loved ones, will continue to honor his memory.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with a Rosary recited at 6:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237. On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, doors will open at 8:30 AM, followed by a chapel service at 9:45 AM. Jaime will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with an 11:15 AM arrival.
Jaime's legacy of love, generosity, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
