

James G. Sullivan Jr., loving son, brother, father, grandpa, and friend passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loving family on April 29, 2010. He was born on October 10, 1943 in Passaic, New Jersey. He graduated from Arcanum High School and attended Ohio State University. He was a proud Ohio State Buckeye. Jim Jr. was the son of James G. Sullivan Sr. and LaVerne Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents. Jim is survived by his children, Melia (Tod) Williamson of Arcanum, OH., Stacy (Kevin) Shelton of San Antonio, TX., Amanda (Anthony) Ramos of Castroville, TX., and five adored grandchildren- Brittany, Emily, Lil’ Kevin, Madison, and Mikayla. He is also survived by his siblings, Jeanne (Jim) Kepler of Pitsburg, OH. ,Judy ( Dr. Don) Ery of Belpre, OH., Joe (Anna) Sullivan of Middletown, PA.; and numerous loved family members. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy in Communications, and enjoyed being a member of the Drummer Bugle Core. After the Navy he began a career in the insurance industry working with Grange Insurance in Ohio. In 1979 he moved to San Antonio with a career at USAA where he, “Silky”, retired after 25 years. During retirement he enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. As Butch said many times, “Family is good. Family is good.” The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Rd on Thursday, May 6, 2010. Funeral services will be at 12:00pm, Friday May 7, 2010 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 2002 Bandera Rd, with Rev. Jean Ann Karm officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. The Family request memorials be sent to The American Heart Association or The American Cancer Association.
