Janice Jordan Dietrich, age 84, passed away on January 24, 2011. Janice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was a long-time member of Coker United Methodist Church. She was born in Gilmer, TX, and spent her school years in Vernon and Wichita Falls. She attended Midwestern State University and transferred to the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She graduated in 1945 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Janice met the love of her life, Burnell Dietrich, while teaching accounting at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls. They married August 16, 1957, and enjoyed 52 years together. In the early years of their marriage they were stationed at many locations, but settled in San Antonio in 1974 after returning from the Panama Canal Zone. Janice remained active supporting her church, sorority, and her children's various endeavors, all while keeping their home running smoothly. She received great pleasure from the numerous stray cats and dogs she and Burnell were able to help. Throughout her life, Janice was generous beyond belief and spread joy to all she met with her beautiful smile and kindness. Even after a stroke robbed her of her voice in 2009, her sweet nature was evident to all who cared for her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burnell Dietrich; parents James Oliver and Corinne Elms Jordan; and son, Dr. Linden Blount. Janice is survived by her daughters, Jorjan Ruonavar and husband Derek of Ft. Worth, Laura Hartmann and husband David of Ft. Worth; daughter-in-law, Carole Blount of Martinez, GA; grandchildren, Holly Goddard and husband David, Lindy Blount, Kelly Blount, Woody Blount, Amanda Hartmann, Matthew Hartmann, and great-grandchild Anna Kate Goddard.
