

Janie was a very religious, loving and giving person, known to many as "Aunt Janie". She retired from Civil Service from Fort Sam Houston and was an active member of San Francesco di Paola Catholic Church for many years, also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, lately holding office of Vice-President, Eucharistic Minister Baptist Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marcelino Marce Sanchez; parents, Encarnacion Menchaca and Maria Santa L. Menchaca; brothers, Mariano, Emilio, Juan, Eucebio, Gabriel, Braulio, Militon, and Lorenzo; sisters, Francisca Chita Barrera, Marie Louise Sanchez, Juventina Tina Gonzalez, Jovita Joyce Menchaca, Anita Anne Tarin.
Janie is survived by her niece, Yolanda R. Esquivel and husband, Ernest; niece, Diana I. Salinas; nephew, Manual B. Tarin and wife, Janie; brother-in-law, Alfred L. Sanchez and wife, Mariana; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of very dear and loving friends. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at San Pedro Manor, especially Raul Cantu and Edyth Guess, also the staff of Vitas Hospice.
Pallbearers are: Delfino Del Salinas, Rey Salinas, Clyde Sanchez, Fausto Garcia, Andres Garza, and Ernest Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers are: Ernest Ernie Esquivel, Dr. John Albert Menchaca, Gabriel Menchaca, Jr., Saul Sanchez, Sr., Benny Menchaca, and Manuel B. Tarin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to San Francesco di Paola Catholic Church. Interment in San Fernando Cemetery II.
