
He was born in Kopperl, Texas on January 31, 1924, to Jeff and Annie McCarty.
Buck was a member of St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Boerne, a Shriner with the Alzafar Temple, an avid golfer with the Alzafar Golf Unit and Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club and he was also a licensed pilot.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and retired from Borden, Inc. in 1989, after 34 years of service.
Buck worked in three Texas Borden plants and was General Manager of plants in the states of Arizona, Arkansas and southern Missouri.
He was very active in civic club in three states, serving as President of the Downtown Lions Club before being transferred, and served several years on the board of Roy Maas Youth Alternative after retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Mack, Jack and Vance McCarty.
Buck is survived by his wife, Ruby; son, Terry and wife, Julie; grandchildren, Laura and Josh White, Jeff McCarty and Dava; great-grandchildren, Jack and Brady White; one brother, Jim McCarty and Pat of Tyler, Texas.
