She was a Beautiful, Caring Soul, who would always give her most for anyone who needed help. With her cheerful and vibrant personality, Mom could light up the room! She grew up in Holyoke, Mass. and helped keep all her brothers and sister together after her parents' untimely passing. She graduated from Holy Rosary High School in Holyoke.
She met my Father, Sanford (Sandy) Allen in her twenties, while working as a Seamstress, and followed him around the world during his Air Force assignments in multiple U.S. States, Yugoslavia, and Germany. We landed in San Antonio, Texas, and that's where we've been since 1975. She was active in the Scouts, Alzafar Shriners, Altrui Court Clown Unit, as well as with many other community groups. In her later years, she remained an avid Homemaker, until health problems forced her to slow down and retire.
She lived a full and happy life, loved by all that surrounded her, and she will be greatly missed by her Family and Friends. I'd like to add another thing, because something got in my eye. My Mom loved life; but, more than that, she loved her kids, Bill, David, and Susan, all her Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren. In her worst moments, she would still light up when she saw her kids. The Great Grandchildren would especially raise her spirits, since it reminded her of her younger years, bringing us up. I would also be remiss, if I didn't mention her love for all our pups. Like I said, a Lover of Life!
Rest in Peace, Mom!
Mrs. Allen is survived by her Husband, Sandy; her children, Susan (Aldo), Bill (Ramona), and David (Lourdes); her sister, Carol and brother, Jack.
