Virginia Lynn Thomas, affectionally known as “Jenny” to all her family and friends went to be with her Lord and Savior October 28, 2019. Jenny’s parents Etta Mae and Eugene Q. Thomas and her brother Billy Eugene Thomas preceded her in death. She is survived by her nephew, Steven Thomas of Rosston, Texas, and several cousins. Jenny received her Bachelors Degree from Baylor, her Ph.D. from the University of Texas and, went on to a distinguishing 40-year career at UT Health Science Center in Microbiology and research. Jenny enjoyed traveling, teaching Sunday School st First Baptist Church and volunteering at the VA hospital Alzheimer’s Unit. She will be missed by her family, friends, and associates.
A Visitation to be held from 1p-5p at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218 with a memorial service beginning at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven for Hope or SCAT.
