Jerome “Jerry” Simon passed away on June 4, 2025. He is survived by his beloved partner of many years, Eva Wedholm; his daughter Jessica Mock and her husband Jeff; his son Jay Simon and his wife Ashlie; and five grandchildren: Morgyn Mock, Ayden Mock, Scheffler Simon, Otto Simon, and Sullivan Simon.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Lawrence Simon, and his brother, Marvin Simon.
Jerry grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduating high school, he moved to Texas, drawn by a childhood love of Westerns. He attended St. Mary’s University, where he earned both his bachelor’s and law degrees. He embraced Texas culture wholeheartedly, with cowboy boots becoming a wardrobe staple - whether paired casually with jeans or a suit in court.
Jerry was an attorney in the truest sense, and an advocate for people who often had no one else to fight for them. He saw every case through with conviction, motivated by a deep commitment to justice and a belief that everyone deserved to be heard.
He loved all things sports, but his passion for the Green Bay Packers and San Antonio Spurs was unmatched. He never missed a game if he could help it and approached fandom with the same intensity and heart he brought to everything else in life. On the golf course, Jerry was known for having the best short game around. An amateur with a pro-level touch, he was always ready to challenge or coach anyone who joined him on the green.
Jerry had a lifelong enthusiasm for travel, exploring the country with his kids on countless road trips over the years, and later shared adventures with Eva by his side. He also found great joy in the simple pleasure of going to the movies, a ritual he cherished for decades.
Those who knew Jerry will remember him as one of a kind - a loyal friend, full of heart. A devoted partner, proud father, grandfather, and uncle. Family meant everything to him. His legacy will live on in those he loved and those he served.
