Jerry P. Childs

He was born in Camden, AR on October 4, 1933. He graduated from El Dorado, AR High School in Spring 1952.

He then entered USAF in July 1952, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1956.

He entered University of Arkansas School of Business Fall of 1956, graduated Business School, entered Law School and graduated in 1962. He passed the State of Arkansas and State of Texas Bar Examination, 1962, and began practicing law in Odessa, Texas until retirement in 1991.

He served on the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Texas and Texas Trial Lawyers. He was a member of the American Bar and Texas Bar Foundation.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Verna Nell Chandler; and his brother, George Childs, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Childs of Boerne, TX; son, Matt Childs and wife Lisa of Houston, TX; daughter, Kim Earhart and husband David of Dallas, TX; son, Michael Childs and wife Gretchen of Pearland, TX; 5 granddaughters, 1 grandson; sisters, Ruth Davis of Mt. Holly, AR, and Betty Butler of Pangburn, AR; brothers, Joe Childs of Mt. Holly, AR and Henry Childs of Downsville, LA; aunt, Myrtle Barr of Smackover, AR; uncle, Ralph Langley of Bryan, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.
