Jerry Don Fletcher

Jerry D. Fletcher, age 84, of San Antonio went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in San Antonio. He died peacefully in his sleep. Jerry was a beloved son, brother, cousin, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who tirelessly supported his family in so many ways.

He was born on February 16, 1938, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, to parents, Clyde and Blanche Dodson Fletcher. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for more than 22 years. Jerry was stationed in Greenland, Panama, Japan, California, and Texas.

Jerry was married to the love of his life and best friend, Loucretia. They were married for more than 32 years. They enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states and several countries. He and Loucretia lived in Bandera and later settled in their home in San Antonio.

Jerry’s pride and joy was always his children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. He loved time with his family, sharing stories, and always lots of laughter. Jerry never met a stranger. He was kind, gentle, and helpful to everyone he met. He enjoyed serving and visiting with members and guests at Northwest Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Areba Runnels and Wanda Crews; wife Elva Loucretia Overby.

Jerry is survived by his three sons, Matt, Jeff, and Paul Fletcher; and their mother, Sue Larch; step-daughter, Missy Zilbert; step-sons, Russell and Cory Hawkins; four grandchildren, Breanna, Kaycie, Jordan, and Shelby; five step-grandsons, Chase, Cody, Jackson, Vance, and Thomas; one great granddaughter, Chelseigh.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2022, at Porter Loring North.

Chuck Morris will officiate. Inurment with Full Military Honors will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Northwest Church of Christ.
