

Sgt. Maj. Jesse Rodriguez was born in Mount Pleasant, Michigan 9/17/39 and was raised in San Antonio, Texas. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 11/29/60, serving 26 years of honorable service to God, Corps, and Country.
During his active duty service, he served two tours in Vietnam, from 1966-67 and from 1970-71, with the 11th Marine Regiment. His duties were from a fire team leader, drill instructor, Brig Warden, Recruiting Duty, Battalion Sgt. Maj., to the Regimental Sgt. Maj. of the 1st. Marine Regiment.
His military decoration are as follows: Navy Commendation Medal (Gold Star), Navy Achievement Medal (Gold Star) Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal (6 Stars), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal, Presidential Unit Citation Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6 Stars), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (1 Star), Rifle Expert Badge, Pistol Expert Badge.
Retiring in 5/31/86, he continued to serve his country by becoming a Supervisory Special Officer within the Secret Service. Here he was one of the agents responsible for protecting the Former Presidents and spouses, and any Foreign Dignitaries and family. He provided protection starting 6/9/86 for President Ronald Reagan, 6/5/88 for Former First Lady Claudia Johnson, 3/17/96 for Former President Ronald Reagan, 8/13/2000 to Former President Gerald Ford, and 4/20/03 to Former President Bill Clinton.
After retiring from the Secret Service in June 2006, he continued to work in the law enforcement field, by providing security for Cornerstone Church, Diamond Group Security, and FJC Security Service.
He is preceded by his parents, Mary H Rodriguez, Jesse Rodriguez Sr., and his brother Gilbert Rodriguez.
Jesse is survived by his wife Reyna Judy Rodriguez; son, Adam Rodriguez; daughters, Lenor Bourcier and Lisa Mendez; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; sister, MaryAnn Quezada; and brothers, Jimmy and Rodolfo Rodriguez.
