Jo Ann Courtney

She was born on August 16, 1945 in San Antonio, TX to Joseph D. Langley and Doris Adell Deussen. She graduated from Highlands High School in 1963 and married Rush Courtney that same year. She was a wonderful wife, sister, mom, grandmother and friend. She always had a smile and an encouraging word. She loved gardening, wildflowers, the Texas hill country, and her 1967 Mustang.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her husband of 55 years, Rush Courtney; daughter LauraLee Rakowitz and husband Edward; son Christopher Courtney and wife Katie; sister Nancy Lee Jordan and husband Charles F. (Buddy); sister-in-law Rushelle Mason and husband Bob; grandchildren KarienAnn, Macie, Mattie, Colton, Dylan, Brendan, Berlyn, and James; cousin Patricia Ann Heitkamp; and childhood friend Sarah Reveley.

She brought beauty and grace to everyone and everything.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
