Joan obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, with a minor in Portuguese, and later a Master's degree in Library Science. On October 7, 1951 she married Clark G. Davis in Minneapolis, MN. Joan was a retired teacher and librarian with Harlingen I.S.D., Port Aransas I.S.D., Laredo I.S.D., and United I.S.D. She was a member of DAR and of St. Mark's Methodist Church.
Joan is survived by her husband of 59 years, Clark G. Davis; children, Lynn Davis Sullivan and husband, Mark of Fort Worth, TX, Holly Sue Davis of Austin, TX, Jonathan Clark Davis and wife, Krystal of Houston, TX; grandsons, Wesley Davis of Lewisville, TX and James Davis of Houston, TX.
