He was an active member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and a member of Utopia Masonic Lodge #934.
He was a loving husband and father, and was well known and respected by all as a friend that could be depended on and trusted.
He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Bownds.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Bownds of San Antonio; children, Kathleen and John; brother, Ron Bownds and wife, Judy; mother, Colleen Bownds; numerous nieces and nephews.
