

He was born in Abilene, Kansas November 12, 1912. John attended The University of Kansas, The University of Kansas Medical School and Northwestern University Medical School where he met and married the love of his life, Jane Brinker.
Dr. Case served as a Captain in the U.S. Army stationed in Denver, Colorado. Upon his discharge, he moved to San Antonio in 1946 as the first board certified Urologist in the city and practiced until 1982.
John was an avid golfer and took pride in having won the San Antonio Country Club Men's Championship five times. He was known for his quick wit, keen sense of humor and his devotion and generosity to his family, many friends and patients.
Dr. Case was predeceased by his beloved Jane Brinker Case; brother, Charles Case and wife, Ruth; sister, Jane Case McKelvey and husband, Donald.
He is survived by son, George D. Case, MD and wife, Kay; daughter, Carol Case Bentley and husband, Ken; grandchildren and great grandchildren, John Robert Case, MD and wife, Katie; great grandson, Luke, Charles Loren Case and wife, Amy; great grandsons, Andrew and George; great granddaughter, Mary, Elizabeth Case Bentley, Kathryn Ann Bentley, Robert Reed Bentley and wife, Libby; great grandson, Jake; great granddaughter, Carlisle and cousins Marian Dewar Bell and Robert Dewar.
The family gives special thanks to his caregivers and guardian angels over the past ten years including Frank Sanchez, Elsie Sanchez, Irene Vogt and her family. John Case was a longtime member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
The Rev. Chip Prehn will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 11 St. Luke's Lane, San Antonio, TX 78209.
