John H. Cavazos, age 92, of San Antonio, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Mr. Cavazos proudly served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters. John was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9186.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rosemary Cavazos Rodriguez. Survivors, wife of 64 years, Amelia G. Cavazos; son, John A. Cavazos and wife, Janie; daughters, Rita Mendiola and husband, Edward, Katherine Gutierrez and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Jeannette, Emily, Ricky, Sarah, Alyssa and Camryn; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Hector Cavazos; sister, Anita Perez and husband, Michael.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Porter Loring.
