He was a veteran who was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart while serving in World War II.
In 1988, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 23 years of service. He was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Jones.
He is survived by his son, Michael W. Jones and wife Debbie of Kyle; brother, George F. Jones and wife Katherine of Lytle; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
