John Alexander James, Jr., born January 21, 1917, died on January 23, 2002 at the age of 85. A native San Antonian, he was the son of Carrie Lewis James and John Alexander James. An Alumnus of Princeton and MIT, he pursued a long career in chemical engineering with the DuPont Company. He was a member of the Order of the Alamo, Sons of the Republic of Texas and St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Mr. James was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Veseva Sellers James. Survivors include two sons, Philip Carrington James of San Antonio and Dr. John A. James III and wife, Susan of Commerce, TX and their mother, Pauline C. James, San Antonio; two grandchildren, Jennifer James Domel and her husband, Bradley of San Antonio and David C. James of Austin; one great grandchild, Lauren Elisabeth Domel.
