
John Kolody, 93, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011, in San Antonio. He was an employee with the Civil Service during his professional career and was also a member of AARP and Hermanson's Fraternal Organization. John was serving in the U.S. Army in Hawaii during the bombing of Pearl Harbor and witnessed the Japanese planes flying over. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. John was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Andrew Kolody; 4 sisters, Anna Kolody, Helen Androshick, Catherine Machusic, and Stella Machusic; and a brother, Metro Kolody. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Kolody; 3 daughters, Colleen Rothganger, Gerry Kolody, and Deborah Shelton and husband Johnny ; 2 sons, John Kolody, Jr. and wife Cris, and Steven Kolody and wife Amy; 4 grandchildren, Brianna, Bethany, Madison, and Andrew; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM, Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Porter Loring Mortuary North.
