He was born December 9, 1925 in Johnstown, PA. Jack loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Now he beholds Him face to face. His wife, Mabel and son, Randy are deceased. Those surviving are son Greg Kurtz and wife Chris of Denver, Colorado. Son, John Kurtz and wife Holly of St. Louis, Missouri. Son, David Kurtz and wife Fran of Windcrest, Texas. His grandchildren are Joel (wife Taylor), Seth (wife Chelsey), John (husband AJ), Karl (wife Jenna), Ian (wife Kelly), Joel Michael, and Jacqueline. Great grandchildren are Rebecca Jean, Malachi, Benjamin, Abigail, Gabriel, Fiona, Cory, Ezra, Hannah, Alexis, and Tyler. Memorial Service to be held on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 10am at Sunset Funeral Chapel with internment at Fort Sam Houston at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Windcrest Lions Club, Attention Marlene Patton: 5810 Winterhaven Dr., Windcrest, TX 78239 to pay tribute to the life of John (Jack) Kurtz.
