John William Rinehart was born in Waynesburg, Pa, son of James B.F. Rinehart and Marjorie C. Vollmer Rinehart. Upon his graduation from Washington and Jefferson College in 1954, he entered the United States Air Force. On December 26, 1955, he married Betty Jean Yanak. His final post in the Air Force took him to San Antonio, Tx where he was discharged. He and his bride moved back to Pennsylvania looking for work. Not finding any work suitable for a young family, they decided to return to San Antonio, Tx where he had been offered a job working for the city. He spent his career working within the City of San Antonio Public Works Department for 38 years until his retirement. While creating a life in San Antonio, John and Betty Jean had 2 sons and 3 daughters together. Later in life, John divorced and remarried Debbie McVea. John loved and took pleasure in nature, bird watching, and tending to his yard.
John is survived by his first wife, Betty Jean; his second wife, Debbie; his sons, John (Robin) and Daniel (Jana). He is also survived by his daughters, Cynthia (Rose), Catherine and Suzanne (Charles); along with 5 grandchildren, Travis, Kimberlee (Chris), Andrew, Lauren, Caitlin; 2 great grandchildren, MacKenzie and Brandon; and 1 great great grandchild, Mia.
