John Ward Saathoff

Ward was born on May 3, 1960, to Dee Dee and Jack Saathoff in San Antonio, TX. He grew up in Helotes, TX with his brothers Wade and Wesley with whom he created countless memories. On June 15, 1984, Ward married Suzanne (Morrison) Saathoff, with whom he shared 47 beautiful years. During that time, they welcomed their children, Maggie, and Sam, into the world. He was kind, fun-loving and wise beyond his years. Ward truly shined as a father, and grandfather.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, barbequing and being outside with his friends and family. He was hardworking, dependable, honest and a bright light for those around him in both his personal and professional life.

He leaves behind a void in the hearts of all of those who had the privilege to know him, however, his legacy will live on through the memories created and the lessons he imparted.

Ward is preceded in death by his mother, Dee Dee Saathoff. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Saathoff; daughter, Margaret Gamboa (Sergio); son, Samuel Saathoff (Lauren); grandchildren, Harrison Gamboa, Elizabeth (Elle) Saathoff, Summer Saathoff; father, Jack Saathoff; brothers, Wade Saathoff (Stacy) and Wesley Saathoff (Cindy); and many extended family members. Beyond his family, Ward leaves behind a vast network of friends who he valued greatly.
