

Jose Antonio (Tony) Aguilar passed away on July 9, 2021, peacefully at the age of 85. He was born on March 28, 1936, to Jose & Elena Aguilar. Tony graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1955/56, completed two years of college & then proudly served in the United States Army in the late 1950's early 1960’s where he received numerous awards & decorations. During this time, he married the love of his life Mary Lou Madero at St. Leo's Church in 1959.
Tony worked in transportation for over 35 years for San Antonio Transit, Kerrville Bus Line, River City Coaches & Kinetic Concepts. During these years he became Vice President of Transit Union & conducted tours of San Antonio’s famous & infamous landmarks, managed bus routes for Kerrville bus line, chartered numerous routes across the United States for River City Coaches & operated 18 wheelers for Kinetic Concepts all while entertaining & meeting people all along the way.
In addition, he was a member of American Legion, Travel Club & the men’s Breakfast Club. He enjoyed & took pride in attending any & all events associated with his childhood friends, clubs & Tech Class. Tony looked forward to family vacations, travel club retreats, loved working on his truck with his twin boys & enjoyed watching the Spurs play with his partner in crime Mary Lou.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou of 61 years; daughter, Lisa; twin sons Troy grandchildren, Desiree, Gabrielle & Austin; great grandchildren, Briana, Joelyn & Logan. He was predeceased by his son, Anthony Aguilar; parents, Jose & Elena Aguilar; brother, Ralph Aguilar; and sisters, Helen Martinez & Lillian Stein.
Tony Aguilar our dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather spent his final days at home with his devoted wife, daughter, sons, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Passing was not related to COVID-19.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Porter Loring.
