Jose Guadalupe Garcia

Jose Guadalupe Garcia was born Victoria, Texas to Severo and Josefina Garcia on December 10th, 1943. He married Margarita Lopez on August 20th, 1964, in Hondo, Texas. He worked as a Postal Clerk for The United States Post Office for 30 plus years. He served in the Army and earned the National Defense Service Medal.

Jose Garcia is preceded in death by his first-born son, Joe Garcia Jr., his parents, Severo and Josefina Garcia, siblings: Antonio Garcia, Guadalupe Moreno, Esther Salazar, Ruben Garcia, Severo Garcia, Richard Garcia, Rosendo Garcia, Vincent Garcia, and Arthuro Garcia.

Jose Garcia is survived by his loving wife, Margarita Garcia, children: John Garcia, Maria Gloria, Michael Anthony Garcia, grandchildren: Analise Raven, Joe Michael Garcia, Alexandria Garcia, Mikki Garcia, Genie Nix, Gabriel Garcia, Yessica Garcia, Klarissa Botello, Michael Garcia Jr, and Jeremiah Botello, and his great-grandchildren: Ethan, Owen and Nathaniel Nix, Leila and Angel Tobias, Helena Garcia.

A visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, located at 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218, on December 7, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral service is scheduled for December 8, 2025, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at the same location.

Military honors will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209, on December 8, 2025, from 1:15 pm to 1:45 pm.
