Joseph Drezner, a passionate soul whose zest for life was as loud as the classic rock 'n' roll tunes he adored, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2024, after a brief illness. Born on July 8, 1947, in the quaint town of Weilheim, Germany, Joseph's journey brought him to the vibrant city of San Antonio, TX, where he ultimately spent his final moments surrounded by his sons.
Joseph's life was marked by a deep devotion to his family, friends, and an unquenchable love for music. He was the beloved husband of the late Rhona Drezner, who left this world too soon. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Howard and Steven Drezner, who inherited their father's kind heart, resilience, and just a little stubbornness. Though Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Haja Helena Drezner, and his father, Henick Drezner, the legacy of their love and resilience lived on through him.
His interests were a reflection of his vibrant personality. Joseph's days were often spent tuning into the classics, from the soulful strains of blues to the electrifying riffs of rock 'n' roll. He was known in his circle of friends as the man of many talents, ready to jam out at a moment's notice. Joseph's passion for music was paralleled only by his love for classic cars, a hobby that saw him amass an impressive collection of miniatures and models over the years.
Joseph often said “don’t say goodbye, it’s see you later”, a phrase he coined to express the way he lived his life. This statement takes on a whole new meaning, as we’ll all see each other later.
Joseph's presence was a beacon of joy for his family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories of his warmth, his laughter, and the music that was his life's soundtrack. He will be remembered as a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and brought a sense of wonder to the everyday.
He spent the last two decades of his life with Ardeth Lehman, whom his family is forever grateful to for the love and support she provided.
As we bid farewell to Joseph Drezner, we reflect on a life well-lived, a melody well-played, and a journey that touched the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy will continue to resonate, much like the chords of his favorite song, in the lives of his family and the many friends who were privileged to know him.
In closing, we take comfort in knowing that Joseph's story is not one of sorrow, but rather a celebration of a life that embodied the rhythm of passion and the harmony of family. Though he has left the stage, the music of Joseph Drezner's life will play on in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest in peace, dear Joseph, and may your soul find the eternal joy that you brought to so many during your time with us.
