

Joseph H. McMahon, age 90, died at home, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 20, 2015 in San Antonio. He was born in Columbus, Ohio to parents, Harry Thomas and Evelyn (Cosgrove) McMahon.
Joe graduated from Alamo Heights High School and joined the U.S. Army during WWII. He flew over 30 missions as a Navigator for B24 bombers in the European Theater. Once back home, Joe graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor's of Business Administration. He was the Vice President of Linton Pencil Company and as a salesman he loved to travel the road, always ready for the next sale. He retired after more than twenty years of sales with Anabolic, Inc. Joe was a longtime member of various Thunderbird Clubs. As a veteran he was eligible for the Honor Flight to Washington which led to his membership in The Red Shirt Breakfast Club with other veterans that were on the honor flight.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Sammie; son, Joseph Terry McMahon; and sister, Edna McMahon Cheal.
He is survived by step-son Donald E. Ahlgren and his wife, Linda; daughter, Jeanne Ellyn McMahon; granddaughter, Ariane Elise Failla; dearest friend and neighbor, Barbara Steed and numerous nieces.
