Joseph was a jack-of-all-trades and a man who let nothing stand in his way. He was a builder, plumber, firefighter/paramedic, hobby extremist, motorcycle fanatic, lighting wizard, and painter extraordinaire. It was evident that his passion was contagious, his humor infectious, and his talents vast. His exterior was rough, but he was an advocate for what was right, unapologetically.
To say that Joseph was a hero would be a vast understatement. He had a big heart, loved his family fiercely, was an amazing friend that was always there no matter the circumstances. He put his life on the line every day to keep the world a safer place as a firefighter/paramedic. Joseph was the cornerstone of his family and a man after God's heart. His entire life exhibited a passion for being the husband and father he dreamed of being.
Joseph was born on November 16, 1983, in San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Rochelle; twins, Paul and Lillie; mother Tammy (Tony Sanchez); father Don (Cindy Mitchell); brother David Mitchell; stepsister Jennifer Sanchez; Grandmother Frankie Wilhoit; Grandparents Paul and Barbara Mitchell; along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and a host of friends.
The Converse Fire Department will honor Joseph's life as a firefighter/paramedic on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Maranatha Bible Church (7855 TX-1604 Loop, Converse, TX 78109), at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Joseph's life by contributing to the Guardians of the Children San Antonio (GOCSATX) Chapter (a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization). Joseph dedicated many hours to supporting this organization, which serve as advocates to provide strength, stability, and to be an answer to the prayer of an abused child for courage, support, and protection.
