She was born April 23,1935 in Corpus Christi, Texas to her parents Sarita Trujillo and Julio Flores Rios. Josie was a devoted mother, sister and friend. She loved surrounding herself with family and friends. Josie will be remembered for her infectious humor, her generous spirit and her unwavering catholic faith. She graduated from Corpus Christi State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and worked for the IRS for many years. She volunteered with the VITA Program and supported many non-profit organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julio and Sarita Rios, brothers Julio Rios, Rogelio Rios, Raul Rios, sister Norma Nino.
Josie is survived by her brothers Roberto Rios, Rolando (Connie) Rios, and sister Olga Rios, son Gary (Claricia) Mohler grandchildren Sean (Devyn) Mohler, Megan (Armando) Martinez great children, Peighton Mohler, Archer Martinez and Jaxon Mohler, sister-in-law Mary Rios, numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Josephine will be held Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary starting at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Monday, October 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 8134 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216 with the committal service to follow at 11:30 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266.
