I met Joshua at John mise pickleball courts. He and I started playing pickleball at the same time in September of 2024. In first couple interactions I could tell there is something unique about Joshua, a very friendly and nicest person. As time progress we became good friends and try to coordinate the times when we are going to play and he will join morning or evening and sometime during day offs he will come at the courts and we will play for hours. One day we decided to do a picnic in the park and he was so excited and invited all his friends from the community and we had a great time. Joshua one of the kindest, humble and generous human being that I have a come across. Josh, was one of the finest role model for our pickleball community here at John Mise. We will miss Josh forever, his memories and stories will live with us. See you on the other side, Josh!

Josh was more than just a pickleball friend—he was the heart of our community. I met him about a year  ago at the John Mise courts, and in that short time, he became one of my closest companions. Always generous, he quietly covered expenses for lights, poles, and batteries so everyone could play, never seeking recognition. His creativity showed in thoughtful touches like building paddle racks and inventing a PVC pipe system to protect paddles while keeping games fair. We used to laugh together, and whenever I met him, I would forget all my stress and simply enjoy his company. He was always excited about something new—whether it was a paddle, shoes, or a cap—and he loved sharing the story behind it. Josh constantly gave—whether it was paddle erasers, donuts, or simply his joyful presence. His kindness, laughter, and warmth will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in all of us.

My dear friend Josh, you will be missed.  I first met Josh after helping from chaperoning a field trip. Josh was one of the first ones to receive us and help our kids school unload the bus. He also helped coach our kids basketball team and from there it was an immediate connection bonding on our love for sports, Nike shoes , religion and philosophy.  My deepest condolences to Tatiana, Jaden, Journey, and the rest of the family.  May you rest in peace my dear friend and God bless.

I met Josh about 6–7 months ago at the Jon Mise Pickleball court, and in that short time we became good friends. We shared so many laughs on the court, but what stood out most was the kind, generous heart he carried everywhere he went.

Josh was always ready to help anyone. He brought lights for our pickleball court, and when I offered to share the cost of the poles, batteries, and LED lights, he just smiled and said, “Bob, it’s ok. I got this.” Even when I knew he was spending out of his own pocket, he never wanted credit—he simply wanted everyone to enjoy the game.

He was so creative too. First, he built a wooden rack for paddles, then later came up with an even better idea—using PVC pipes and numbering them so players could line up fairly without risking damage to their paddles. That was Josh—always thoughtful, always finding ways to make things better for others.

Even in the small moments, like when I asked what he used to clean his paddle, he said, “I’ve got extra paddle erasers, I’ll bring one for you.” And he did—just like he would for others too. That was who Josh was—a man who gave freely, cared deeply, and never stopped thinking of others.

In our evening pickleball chat group, I often said he was the nicest guy among us, and I’m grateful I told him that nearly every time we met. Even when introducing him to my kids, I’d tell them, “This is Josh—the nicest, most generous, kind-hearted man you’ll ever meet.” Because he truly was.

Josh, thinking about you brings tears to my eyes. I love you, my buddy. Rest in peace—you’ll live on in our hearts forever.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of my friend Josh, whose generosity, laughter, and kindness never failed to brighten our days. I’ll always remember seeing him arrive at the John Mise pickleball courts with a big smile on his face and very frequently with a big box of donuts in a hand for the group. Now, everyday when I visit the park, I can feel the comfort of his familiar presence on the park bench, savoring his favorite snack. His warmth and friendly spirit made every day a little brighter. May his memory be a comfort to all of us who were fortunate enough to know him, and may his family find peace in knowing the lasting impact he had on everyone around him.

Aunque no estés físicamente, tu recuerdo, tu risa y el legado de tu amor permanecen con nosotros. Gracias por ser un tío amoroso y sobretodo un tío prevente y un gran Cuñado.

Josh was an incredible man, I met him at Cupertino pickleball and he always made sure to say hello with a big smile. I specifically remember one evening where he helped me learn spin serves. We kept drilling until I got it down - he was patient, kind, and enthusiastic. I remember setting up lights with him at the courts, even when he wasn’t playing he’d stop by to setup lights so we could play into the late evening. It showed how incredibly thoughtful he was. The Cupertino pickleball community will truly miss him. I remember the last time I saw him, he’d brought his family to the John Mise park. I’ll always remember how happy he was that day. My deepest condolences to Josh’s family, my prayers are with you.

My heartfelt condolences to Josh's family. I got to know Josh on the pickleball courts at John Mise Park, San Jose. The first time that I met him was after sunset, he was playing with a lighted up ball. Noticing my curiosity, he invited me over to play with him, since then we played many games together and shared many conversations. 

Josh was an incredibly kind-hearted and generous person who would always make everyone welcome. When we partnered together to play doubles, he'd always offered coaching and guidance and remind me to play with intention and not hold back. Great advice, not just for the pickleball court but for life, I will always remember these words.

Soldier with a Golden Heart : We connected with Joshua about a year ago at pickle ball courts and he bonded with all of us over the period of time. He loved spending time at the courts  and playing games. I called him “Soldier with a Golden Heart” because he had this innate quality of Giving, he gave away things without hesitation and volunteering his time for services and projects to build and fix stuff around the courts. He also had a tremendous resolve for doing things and making sure the tasks get completed, whether it was to build something or to improve upon his game - he will be restless until he completes the task at hand…

In some old scriptures they say - When one is detached from materialistic things (A Giver) and do good for the community (A Server), they are freed from the Karmic bond and achieve Nirvana - they rest in peace and have a special place in the hearts of the community, friends and family !

We had the privilege of knowing Joshua when we were working together on the AV team at OCGRACE First service in Garden Grove, California. He was exemplary at his work running ProPresenter, incredibly reliable and, most of all, passionate about the Lord. It was always such fun to talk and hang out with the family and we'd always have lots of laughs together. I am devastated about his passing, but am certain of seeing him again at the second coming. It is an honor to call him and his wonderful wife Tati friends, even after their move to Texas and will be remembered with love and the warmest affection.

We are deeply saddened by the passing We’ve lost our best friend, Joshua. We went through school together and shared so many memories. We’ll always miss him and are truly honored to have called him our friend.

Gracias por tu hermosa amistad por más de 25 años, sin importar en q lugar del mundo te encontraras siempre había una llamada para saludar y saber de nosotros,  fuiste ese hermano mayor q la vida me regaló. En mis momentos más difíciles siempre pude contar contigo. En esta foto recién saliendo de una operación mayor y ahí estabas tú como el mejor de los amigos apoyandome en todo. Siempre te recordaré como lo que fuiste un gran hombre, un gran esposo, un excelente padre, un siervo fiel de nuestro Dios y el mejor de los amigos.  Jamás serás olvidado! Words can’t explain the shock and the emptiness felt… you are the younger brother I never had.. my brother from my mother’s brother! Thank you for always showing up! Your loyalty and love impeccable. So many amazing memories shared since through out or life .. grandmas house playing running up and down the hill! Laughing and your smile .. every tear shed is a memory of how amazing you were .. Thank  you Thank you Thank you! I’ll miss you dearly till I see you again… I love you .. I’m sure you already gave mom a big kiss and hug for me.

My condolences to the family. He was a student of mine at Juan Ponce HS. Great student and then later he became a brother in arms.

I had the best time of my life with all of my family on this day! A great cousin and a friend. I will never forget all the memories we share and all the adventures  we lived back in la finca when we are all together. I have great memories.
