Julian Alvarez

Julian M. Alvarez, a cherished member of his family, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on July 7, 1942, in Three Rivers, Texas. He was the beloved son of the late Felix Alvarez and Lorenza Munoz Alvarez.

Julian’s life was a testament to his strong faith and devotion to his family. A longtime parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. His quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering faith touched everyone he met.

He dedicated his professional life to the printing industry for over forty-five years, where he was known for his hard work, integrity, dedication, and skill. Outside of work, Julian enjoyed fishing, grilling, travel, photography and most importantly spending time with his family.

Julian is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Alice Alverez, his son, Julian M. Alvarez Jr. and his stepdaughters, Elizabeth Reyna and Alice Vargas. He was a doting grandfather to his 8 grandchildren, Evette, John, Jason, Julia, Celeste, Christopher, Derek, and Jayda. His 12 great grandchildren, Carolann, Ashlie, Gabriella, Andrew, Kayleigh, Alexander, Jocelyn, Aiden, Felicity, Jordyn, Harper and Braylen. His 4 great great grandchildren Jude, Sunday, Margot and Rosemary. He was a cherished brother to Felix, Olga and Delores.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Angelica A. Alvarez. His children, Cynthia O’Neill, Janice Alvarez and Alfredo Alvarez. His great great grandson, Samuel. His siblings, Aurelia, Amalia, Josefina, Theresa, and Luis.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave., 78212.

A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 159 Camino Santa Maria, 78228.
