June was born on May 24, 1932, in Dallas to Don Cecil McCalib and Ruby Jewel Hardy McCalib. She grew up in Oak Cliff, where she developed the easygoing nature, warmth, and wit that would define her throughout her life.
She spent much of her career as an underwriter with Trinity Insurance and lived the majority of her life in the Dallas area before moving to San Antonio in 2017.
June was known for being loving, accepting, and genuinely easy to be around, which earned her a special place in people’s hearts. People loved June almost immediately. She had a kind spirit, a wonderful sense of humor, and a mischievous twinkle in her eye whenever she slipped in a dirty joke. She had a quiet strength in her faith and maintained a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. While she did not always speak loudly about her beliefs, she lived them daily through kindness, grace, and prayer.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and cooking, especially preparing sweet treats for her family. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her sense of humor, and her ability to make people feel comfortable and cared for.
June was preceded in death by her daughter, Roxane Klingler, her son in law David Walker, and her grandson, Christopher Scott Klingler.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Foster Jerome Klingler; her son, Scott Jerome Klingler and his wife Cindy Cohn; her daughter, Derilyn Klingler Walker; her sister, Jo Ann Williams; along with her seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, all who brought her immense joy.
A Celebration of June's Life will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, Texas 78232, on May 30, 2026, at 2:00 pm. The family invites you to Cindy and Scott's residence for food and fellowship following the service.
