Karen Lee Thomas

She passed peacefully in her home after a short time in hospice. She is now at peace, reunited with loved ones and no longer in any pain. Karen was born to Alvin & Lenore Jackson on June 5, 1941 in Rogers City Michigan. On June 22, 1957 she married the love of her life Bobbie Thomas at Chapel #3 at Ft. Sam Houston.

After being stationed in several different places stateside and abroad they finally settled down in San Antonio, Texas. Karen worked as a nurse at several different places in San Antonio but did most of her work at BAMC. She loved Christmas baking and everyone looked forward to getting their plate every year. She took her fair share of pictures over the years and loved working on photo restoration in her spare time.

She is survived by her sons, Anthony Thomas, Edmund Thomas & wife Melissa. As well as two grandsons Dominic Thomas and Cole Thomas. Her parents and sister (LaDonna Cron) preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2024 6:00 – 8:00pm at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 10:00 am also at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home. Burial immediately following at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery.
