Karen Sue Weiskittel

She was born on November 7, 1949 in Medina, Ohio, the daughter of Clair and Zilda Dorland.

Karen graduated from Cloverleaf High School in 1967 and earned her Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University in 1971. She later received a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998.

She spent many years working in Air Force base libraries. Karen retired from Northwest Vista College as a Librarian in 2015.

Karen married Daniel Weiskittel on July 25, 1970 in Sydney, Ohio.

Karen loved traveling in her retirement, particularly the 19 cruises she enjoyed with her husband. From the time they were born, she doted on her grandchildren and was often found baking banana bread and playing Monopoly with them. She was an excellent seamstress and an active member of the local YMCA.

Karen is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dan Weiskittel; daughter, Laura (Married to Gary Stinnett); son, Jeff Weiskittel; grandchildren, Courtney and Nick Stinnett; brother, Don Dorland; and many family members in Ohio and Michigan.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or the San Antonio Food Bank.

Karen's kindness and love will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
