Passed away on Wednesday, February 11, from the aftermath of a stroke in August, 2007. Born in Alabama in 1920, Kathy grew up in Houston and has lived in San Antonio since 1981, retiring as building manager of the La Quinta headquarters building in 1992.
She married William Sims, originally of San Antonio, in 1940 and worked at Brown Shipyard in Houston during WWII while he was overseas. After his death in 1969, she married Richard Judd and lived in Florida until 1981, working for several homebuilders. The 5th of 6 children, Kathy adored family and remained close to her sisters, brothers and their children. She was the last of her siblings to pass and was the greatly valued last link with that Jones generation.
Kathy was a gracious, gentle and kind-hearted Southern lady and she valued the many life-long friends she made along the way.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Neel, granddaughters Monica Perumal and Michelle Hernandez, 5 great-grandchildren, and a large extended family who will miss her loving presence and wise counsel.
