Kathryn M. Sexton died Friday, February 8, 2002, following a brief illness. She was unique in so many ways, including, being a devoted loving wife, mother and grandmother, an outstanding librarian, a ferocious reader, a loyal friend to many individuals, a kind and generous person. She served twenty-five years as a librarian for the Churchill High School Library, and traveled as a field representative for the American Library Association Adult Education Survey. The public library work was done in Akron Ohio, Gary Indiana, Kansas City Missouri, and Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was the author of the book Samuel Maverick, and many other publications including widely diversified stories and professional articles. Community work included the Akron race relation's council, and she served as president of the San Antonio Leagues of Women voters. She leaves behind a loving husband Irwin "Mike" Sexton and a devoted son, David M. Sexton and his wife Debbie and daughter Erin, a wonderful niece Sharon Powell and very special nephew Tom Segee. Kathryn will be missed in so many ways by numerous individuals. She was a marvelous loving person.
