I haven't read the memorials until tonight. I think I was avoiding it. It is still so hard to believe that my childhood hero is gone. Kenny had such a wonderful sense of humor and he really was such an easy person to like. I am proud to be his sister. Kenny, I love you and miss you terribly!

I am deeply sorry to hear about Kenny and only wish I would have learned of his death sooner. I want to express how sad I am to hear about his passing. He was such a wonderful person and I know he will truly be missed by so many people. He was always so happy and thoughtful and I do not ever remember seeing him without a smile on his face. We're sorry for our delay as we have been out of town for the past 2 weeks. We have had the pleasure of knowing Kenny through our business with FGS. Kenny and I knew each other in high school - he was really a wonderful & funny guy with the sweetest little-boy smile, and an excellent athlete. My heart goes out to the family. I hope that by knowing so many people liked and cared about Kenny will help ease your pain in some small way and give you comfort.

There are no words that can help the heartache at this time. Though we didn't personally know you other than to take a few shirt orders, we felt more attached since we frequent you business almost monthly for personal use. Having our own small business makes me all the more concerned for you.

Kenny and I went to Madison. He was a very special person. Kenny always has and always will have a special place in our hearts. He had nicknames for everyone. Kenny would call me Anwad Dawna spelled backwardsand my sister Pam was Pamibaby. I called him Kenny Jim. Kenny's parents and sisters were special to me and my family. It brought back MANY pleasant memories seeing them again. It was nice to finally meet the love of his life. I hope to see Cheri and Tyler more. I know God needs his angels. He has his reasons for all ages. I am glad to know that Kenny is looking out for us. We love you Kenny Jim!

Our son Michael was in the class ahead of Kenny at Madison. They played sports together and were good friends. I was a teacher at Madison and although Kenny was never in my class I knew of his politeness and good work. Our deepest sympathies to all of his family.

I am so sorry to hear about Kenny. I went to school with him at Madison, but haven't seen him since I moved away in the 9th grade. I remember that he used to come to my house for Campus Life Meetings. He was always smiling and friendly. He sounds like he turned out to be a very loving and wonderful man. My parents live in San Antonio and they told me he was very respected in the community. That says a lot about a person.

I have always admired Kenny for what he has done. Kenny and I met in the early 80's while we were working for Malcolm and Delphine Beck Gardenville Fertilizer Co.. I can recall loading horse manure on hot summer days wondering what in the world are we doing here and the hours spent hand bagging soil for deliveries and all the things we use to talk about, but one thing stands out, we had mentioned to each other that someday we would have our own gardening supply stores and Kenny was the first to make a move. I have had the privilege to work with Kenny at Gardenville and the Fertile Garden and all of it has been a learning experience for both of us. I was fortunate to meet Kenny and Cheryl before they married and we definitely had some laughs. sympathy and love Erich

I am new to organic gardening and Kenny was a wonderful and eager teacher, always patiently answering any questions I had. I will deeply miss seeing him.

Weir Family -- I am the President of the Men's Garden Club of San Antonio. I would like to pass on our deepest regrets that such a fine asset to the community has passed on. Kenny was a member and friend to our club. He spoke to us a number of times, including just this past March. He was a pleasure to be associated with. Always softspoken, with a smile on his face and at peace with all the chaos that may be going on around him. I respected his knowledge and commitment to the organic ways of gardening. We are only two years apart in age. I, like Kenny, have been graying for a number of years. I felt a connection thru all that was similar about our lives. He leaves a void in the gardening community and will be missed by a good part of the San Antonio population. I hope he is able to garden in Heaven.

Time passes so quickly, but friendships outlast time, and Fred and I thought of you often. 
The first day I saw Kenny on the show with Leslie B. Jones, I called Fred and was so thrilled, yelling, "Kenny is on TV". I even taped the segment so Fred could see how great he looked and how well spoken he was, just a natural! 
Kenny is in the arms of the angels now, and we are sure God has given him the task of working by the side of Mother Nature. He will be missed here on earth.

I was always happy to work with Kenny and the crew at Fertile Garden Supply. I was amazed at the confidence he had in me and my employers as we prepared his commercials and public relations strategies. It was an honor to have known Kenny these past three years. I actually met him my third day on the job with Cavazos PR. It was a Saturday morning at KENS-TV, and in he came with a smile on his face. I fondly recall the days that you both were with us at Timberwilde. Tyler, all the teachers remember you as the hardest worker in the school. You did so well! We missed you in grade 5. My God Bless you all in this loss and more especially in the days to come as your profound loss becomes more of a reality. We have know Kenny since he was at the Evans Rd. store. When we last saw him at the garden show a week ago, we tried to convince him to open another location nearer to New Braunfels. He laughed and said that would just take away too much time from his family, "I don't have enough as it is." He was a most wonderful person we all will sorely miss. His standards for business were especially high, being one of the few businessmen who worked hard to provide honest service and excellent products to his customers. God bless you and your family.

Kenny was a wonderful husband to my sister, a wonderful father to my nephew and a wonderful part of our family. I'm greatful for the years he shared with us. He was truely loved and will be forever in our hearts.

Fondly remembering all the goods times we had as kids, even though Kenny was older than Sara and myself. Trying not to go in his room he was a teenager after all and distrub his stuff.

I moved to San Antonio in the summer of 1978 from Washington D.C. and attended James Madison High School until 1980. I played freshman basketball while Kenny played on the varsity. I recall Kenny as a lanky kid with curly hair who ran up and down the court with a very distinct gait. More than that, Kenny was just an all-around good guy who made me and my brother Mark feel welcome to the San Antonio area. I also remember Kenny as someone who was very popular in school and well-liked by everyone he came in contact with. Just a very friendly and well-intentioned individual. From his obituary, Kenny sounds as if he was a committed husband and wonderful father, and that his presence touched many lives.

Ernest was given the opportunity to work with Kenny at Fertile Garden, and thanks to Kenny, Ernest has a very secure job and is able to support our family. Kenny was a dear friend to me. We used to work together at Gardenville and he taught me so much about work and life. I was young and he was always there to give me advice. We used to laugh because I spoke no English and he barely could speak spanish, but somehow we managed to communicate. Because of "Kenny", Paul Stanley, who has also passed on, and Malcolm Beck I am who I am now.
