

He was born on April 8, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert Earl Reid and Helena Hudson-Reid. Kevin and his siblings were raised as ‘Seventh Day Adventist’, attended their church, and were vegetarians for most of their childhood. That later changed when they reached adulthood. He went/graduated from ‘Peterson Warren Academy’.
As a young adult, he moved to different cities where he eventually settled in San Antonio, Texas. He had various jobs as a young man, prison guard in a prison, security guard at a hospital, and worked for an investment company. As a change he drove an 18-wheeler for a trucking company, but had to stop due to back issues.
He moved on to working as a salesman in the automotive sales industry in San Antonio, Texas; for which he was known as a skilled salesman with the ability to connect with people. He received multiple praises on his patience, professionalism, and willingness to work with his clients. To help them get the best deal, he would work within their personal budget and affordability, on the purchase of their vehicle of choice.
Kevin is survived, at the time of his death, by his current life partner Joan Marie Hyett and their son, Justin Travis Hyett-Reid.Sons from his previous marriages include Kevin Reid Jr. and Bryant Reid.
Kevin is brother to his sisters – (half-sister) Renee Denise Reid, Mar’Sheila Fenison (Alfred), Katrina Woods (husband deceased), and brother to Marco Reid (Karen).
Also he is either uncle, cousin, or grandpa to numerous relatives, and he leaves behind many co-worker friends and friends.
Our hearts are broken. He will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched.

A visitation for Kevin will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238, followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 PM.
