You were a blessing from God, a precious gift from the start. Mercedes, you were a beautiful creature both inside and out. A humanitarian, an animal rescuer, a beautiful spirit. We were blessed to be your parents and we will always have you in our hearts and memories. Mercedes, we miss you, and even though our hearts are hurting, we know you left your cocoon and are now a beautiful and colorful butterfly. You are free now, my lil pumpkin spice. We will see you again.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Road, with a prayer service to begin at 6:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Nuevo Amancecer United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Oak Island Cemetery.
