

Lawrence was born on October 23, 1948 in San Antonio. His parents were Thomas and Ludie Conway. The house was filled with seven children and loving memories. After Lawrence graduated from Breckenridge High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1968, he joined the United States Air Force. While in the military, his pride and joy was working as a pneudraulic master mechanic on the B-52 Bombers and KC130s. He served in Persian Gulf and Vietnam War.
Lawrence married Sarah Wilson on December 23, 1971 and during their 52 years of marriage they had one child, their joy, Lauren Conway.
After retiring in 1992, his spare time was listening to jazz, playing basketball/racquetball at the base gym, playing cards and dominos with friends, fishing, watching cooking shows, smoking briskets, ribs, chickens and baking lemon meringue pies. He was a master at it all.
In 1999 - 2004, he worked at Boeing Aerospace Support Center San Antonio Facility as an Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor. He always took pride in his job and the new friends he made there. He was always a people person who cared for others and loved his family.
Lawrence was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ludie Conway, his brothers Thomas Conway, Herbert Conway, Bobbie Conway, Grandson Liam Nagy, and Father-in-law RC Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah; daughter, Lauren (Christopher) Nagy; his grandchildren Layla Evans, Leah Nagy, Logan Nagy, Luke Nagy. He was also blessed with two sisters Sandra Brown and Caroline (Ray) Campbell and his brother Donnie (Randie) Conway, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, God- daughter and extended family and friends.
A Committal Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
The family will begin receiving extended family and friends at 12:00 PM for a Memorial Service to be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238.
