Lee Allen Chaskin, 80, died Saturday, March 7 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas following a series of difficult illnesses. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth “Libby” (Capps) Chaskin; his daughter Christin Ann Cody, his son Scott Edward Chaskin all of San Antonio and daughter Wendy Chaskin Ratnavale of Rockville Maryland. Lee was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1939 and was the son of Ruth and Edward Chaskin. He was raised in Terre Haute, Indiana where he graduated from Wiley High School in 1957. Lee Graduated from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida in 1962. His career spanned a time in New York City where he was proud to work with Robert Kennedy on the New York City World’s Fair. He returned to Terre Haute to work with the family business, Anchor and Indiana Furniture Company, until its closing. His time in New York working for large advertising agencies led him to San Antonio where he continued in the advertising business. He branched into investment banking and eventually international resort investments.

Some of his fondest memories are of his summers at Culver Academy, all of his childhood friends, and his adventures in Miami, Florida during his college days.

The family would like to sincerely thank all of Lee’s doctors and the dedicated staff at Methodist Hospital.

In lieu of flowers a gift to the Humane Society, sahumane.org, would be appreciated.
