Leonard joined the Army and saw action in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, Normandy and Central Europe. Leonard was awarded several service medals.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Clara Mae Bare. He is survived by daughter, Patsy L. Carter Gary; and son, Ronald Bare Heather both reside in San Antonio.
Leonard retired as a master carpenter from California.
Leonard leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Michele Gerner, Michael Carter, and Lisa Harrell. He also leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and a nephew.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Guzman, the nursing staff at Sonterra Place Care Center, and Vista Hospice Staff.
Interment with Military Honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston.
