

Leopoldo (Leo) Banda entered eternal rest February 16, 2018. A native of San Antonio, TX, he was born to Pilar and Herminia Banda on November 15, 1946. He now reunites with his parents and is survived by his wife of 20 years, Alicia, 5 siblings, 2 children, 3 step-children, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leopoldo served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was recipient of: Army Commendation Medal w/V Device, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge. His career in Civil Service began as a jet engine mechanic at Kelly Air Force Base and then continued onto Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma as a Quality Assurance Investigator (GS-11). He retired after 29 years of civil service in 2007. Leopoldo enjoyed restoring antique cars, trucks, hot rods, and traveling to Las Vegas.
The family will receive guests Wednesday, March 7th, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. with Rosary at 7:00 P.M. A procession will depart the funeral home Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. to celebrate 9:30 A.M. mass at San Juan De Los Lagos. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
