
Linda Bridges Shepard, age 59, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2001 at home in Helotes, Texas. She was born March 16, 1942 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, graduated from Sulphur High School, Sulphur, LA and attended Northwestern State University, Nachitoches, LA. She maintained a close relationship with college friends and roommates for over 30 years, seven of them taking annual trips together throughout the United States and the Caribbean. After college she was employed in the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court office in Lake Charles, LA. Linda and her two sons moved to Houston, TX in 1973 when she went to work for Mitchell Energy Corp. in Houston, TX, later moving to The Woodlands, TX when Mitchell Energy moved their offices. She was employed by Mitchell Energy for 25 years, making lifelong friends who supported her throughout her long involvement with cancer - which began in September 1997 - while in Houston, The Woodlands and San Antonio. She was active in the Desk and Derrick Club, retiring from Mitchell Energy in 1999 as Senior Engineering Technician and moved with husband, Jim, who had retired in 1998, to Helotes, TX. Linda was a loving, compassionate mother, wife and friend who always put others first, particularly her family and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Dino Mark Digilormo and brother, William Lee "Buddy" Bridges. She is survived by husband, Jim of Helotes, TX; mother and father, William E. and Louise Hinton Bridges, Quitman, LA; sister, Ann Bridges Yeary, husband, Nick and their 5 children, Indian Trail, NC; son, Darin Lee Digilormo, wife, Susan and their 4 children, Spring, TX; son-in-law, James D. Shepard, wife, Melanie and their 4 children, Danbury, TX; daughter-in-law, Diane Shepard Saleme, husband Vince and their child, Houston, TX. A special thanks to Dr. Steven P. Kalter and his team for superior professional and personal attention extended to Linda throughout her cancer involvement.
