

Mr. Muse was born in Woodworth Louisiana on August 8, 1927 and graduated from Lecompte High School in Lecompte Louisiana. He was one of eight boys and three girls whose Father was Louie Muse Sr., Mother Georgia Hodge and Stepmother Edna Powell Muse.
While in the Army and stationed in Germany, he met his wife Luise Berghof Muse. They were married in December of 1955 for 67 years when Luise passed away quietly in her sleep on December 23, 2022. He passed away 6 months later on her birthday.
His years of Military Service included:
Coast Guard: (1944-1946). He joined the USCG at the age of 17 and was Honorably Discharged in 1946 but not before having been awarded the following Medals: USCG Good Conduct Medal; Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal.
Army: (1950-1973). He served in WWII, Normandy, Korea and Vietnam and was stationed in Germany, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Ft. Sill Oklahoma, Ft. Sam Houston, Aberdeen Proving Ground Maryland and Kirby Texas.
Medals awarded included the Purple Heart Medal; Army Commendation; Army Good Conduct; Army of Occupation; National Defense Service; Armed Forces Expeditionary;
Army Meritorious Unit Citation: Combat Infantryman Badge; Crew Chief Wings;
Basic Airborne Wings Medal.
World War II: He served in Normandy and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign WWII Medal as well as the WWII Victory Medal
Korean War: He was awarded the Korean Service Medal; Korean Defense Service; United Nation Korea Service; Republic of Korea War Service; Korean Presidential Unit Citation Medal.
Vietnam War: (1968-1969) Awarded the Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign; Vietnam Presidential Unit Citation; Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Medal.
SSG Muse loved his country and served it Meritoriously as can be witnessed by the Medals he was awarded in keeping America a Safe and Free Nation for us in which to live. He also dearly loved his wife Luise, his family and his friends and loved his life with the same passion he exhibited during his Service to this Country.
He is survived by his daughter Sue Muse. His Brothers and Sister-in-laws
Harold and Elise Muse, Donald and Diane Muse, Presley and Wendy Muse and his Sister Elaine Muse Lucas.
His deceased Brothers include Rufus Muse, Ernest Muse, Floyd Muse
and Jimmy Ray Muse.
His deceased Sisters include Alice Muse Cook and Hazel “Chazel” Muse Lee.
