Eva Lucretia Breazeale Smith was born in Kermit, Texas to Opal and Foster Ford Breazeale. Her family eventually settled in Lubbock, Texas where Lucretia attended Lubbock High School. It was in Lubbock where she met and married the love of her life, Marlin R. Smith III. She often reminisced about meeting Marlin at the Hi-D-Ho Drive-In and other fond memories of their youthful days in Lubbock. Lucretia devoted her life to her husband and children. Her grandchildren will attest to the strong influence she had on their lives. In 1971, Lucretia and Marlin relocated to New Braunfels, Texas and made one more move to San Antonio in 1977 where she lived for 43 years. Lucretia was a member of the Thousand Oaks Women’s Club, Fair Oaks Country Club and Alamo Heights United Methodist Church in San Antonio. She and Marlin were passionate Spurs basketball fans and held season tickets to the musical series at the Majestic Theater in San Antonio. Lucretia loved art, music and dance. She encouraged her children to explore and appreciate the fine arts. Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and 50’s Rock ‘N Roll always brought a smile to her face. Her biggest smiles were on the dance floor in Marlin’s arms. We know they are dancing together again. Lucretia is preceded in death by her parents, Eva Opal Ramsey Breazeale and Foster Ford Breazeale, her beloved husband, Marlin R. Smith III, and her devoted son, Kevin Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Shonna Smith Ammann (Eric) and Charisse Smith, son Christopher Smith (Elizabeth), and daughter-in-law Terri Smith; grandchildren Ashlee Luna (Jamie), Heather Williams (Dusty), Michele Eastwood (Aaron), Megan Mansell (Nathan), Cyle Mansell, Kayla Smith, Carrie Smith and Danielle Modisette-Scott (Chris); great-grandchildren, Emerson, Reagan, and Pierce Luna, Liam, Kellan and Hallee Eastwood, Waylon Scott, Landry Goldsmith and sister, Ruth Barrett.
