Lucy was a devoted caring mother who provided spiritual guidance to her family. She worked as a nursing aide for over 15 years helping the sick and elderly before retiring. Laughter, dancing and song were important parts of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Cristobal Cadena; brother, Daniel Cadena and daughters Lydia Mendoza and Maria Delia Mendoza. Lucy is survived by brothers, Chris Cadena and wife, Mary, Raymond Cadena and wife, Josie; sisters, Otillia Vasquez Cantu, Antonia Rodriguez, and Consuelo Ruiz; daughter, Annabelle Esparza and sons, Juan P. Mendoza, Jr., and Joe Anthony Mendoza; grandchildren, Salina Esparza Cinco, Eric Esparza, Frances Mendoza Hernandez, Monica Mendoza Cerda, Mimi Celeste Mendoza, and four great grandchildren.
