Lupe V. Villareal

Guadalupe (Lupe) Villareal, 88 years old passed away on July 1, 2025, in San Antonio Texas in the home of family. Lupe was born in Seguin, Texas to Juanita and Pedro Valdez on December 11, 1936. Where she grew up with her sister Felicia and four brothers Cruz, Ezekiel, Antanacio, and Pete.

Throughout her childhood years they attended church as a family. In her teen years she decided to move to San Antonio to start a life for herself. Lupe was very driven and independent. She worked hard and became a waitress for the Non-commissioned officers club better known as the NCO club at Fort Sam Houston military base. Before retiring she received recognition and was commended by leadership multiple times during employment over the years.

Lupe met her husband Epi Villareal, a SAPD policeman and married at the age of 28 on December 28,1964. They were married for 31 years until he passed away in their home in 1995. Lupe and Epi bought their house and started a family having one son together, Cruz Villareal. This is the home she raised him in and later became the home her grandchildren Abahgail and Adelyna Villareal were raised in. Lupe loved her family, and this became her passion along with caring for her dogs Mary and Gizmo.

She enjoyed the outdoors, going for walks, and constantly staying active whether it was in the mall or in her home. Lupe enjoyed the life she built. She spent her last years with her grandchildren and their mother Roxanne and stepdad Marvin Thompson who loved and served her until she passed. Her last moments were with family. She was preceded in death by her parents Juanita and Pedro Valdez, her husband Epi Villareal, and her brothers Cruz and Ezekiel Valdez. She is survived by her son Cruz Villareal, her siblings Antanacio Valdez, Pete Valdez, and Felicia Tierney. Her nephews Cruz (Sonny) Valdez, Tony Valdez, Greg Valdez, Gabriel Valdez, Gilbert Valdez, Mike Valdez, Peter Valdez Jr, Joseph Valdez, Mike Tierney, Patrick Tierney. Her nieces Diana Chavez, Gina Valdez, Yvonne Valdez, Adrianna Valdez Marmolejo, Lisa Tierney-Throneberry. Her grandchildren Abahgail and Adelyna Villareal.

Lupe prayed daily and loved God. She was a strong woman who served others and is loved by many.
