

Manuel "Manny" San Miguel, age 70, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas after a long battle with cancer. He was born January 24, 1952 to Matilde Rodriguez and Ireneo Alfonso San Miguel in Maverick County, Texas.
Manny retired from Abbott Laboratories after working for 35 years. He excelled in his job and was a member of Abbott's Top Performer Council numerous times. Due to his excellent achievements he traveled to beautiful places with his wife. Manny was born to be in sales. Early on in his younger years, volunteering became his way of life. He always wanted to help people and the community he lived in. He was the president of the board for two HOA communities in Dallas. He also was elected as Board President for Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity after 20 years of volunteer work.
Six years ago he relocated to San Antonio and immediately wanted to see where he could volunteer. As soon as he attended services at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, he liked the congregation and decided this is where he belongs. He started volunteering at Bible Class, Hospitality Committee, 2022 Men's Acts Retreat, TMIY (That Man is You), Christ Centered Marriage Ministry. Even though he had no carpentry experience, he joined Sleep in Heavenly Peace building beds for under privileged children.
He always wanted to be a knight and became a Fourth-Degree member of Knights of Columbus.Being at the church often, he decided to be an extra ordinary minister where he got the chance to visit hospital and delivered holy communion to the sick.
Manny was recently elected to be chairperson of HTCC Parish Pastoral Council. With all his church busy activities he still managed to be a Board member of Salado Canyon Homeowners Association.
He loved his neighborhood. He never failed to talk to everyone when he's out walking his dog Bentley.Everyone who meets him can see his smile and positive outlook on life says how he brightened their day. He made everybody feel important. He impacted both kids and adults; they emulated him without his knowledge. He was a great mentor and inspiration because of his faith in God. Everyone wants to be"Mr. Manny."
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alfonso San Miguel Jr.; and daughter, Gina Marie Longshore. Manny is survived by his wife of 36 years, Inelda San Miguel; children, Michael and Chris San Miguel; grandchildren, Julia, Kiana, Alivia, Manu, Ashlyn and Alexandra; great-great granddaughter, Ariella Amore Picasso; siblings and their families, Sylvester and Rosalinda Guadiana, Phil and Teresa Samano, Delia Eidson, Frank and Robin San Miguel, and Edna San Miguel; beloved forever Dog, Bentley; as well as numerous extended family members and a lifetime of friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
